Heat Guard Presentation

I think the idea of this project was overall a good idea.  The group focused on a problem that unfortunately is really common today.  I can't decide what is more sad, the fact that people leave their kids in the car intentionally, or when they accidently forget about them.  The same question runs over and over my head: how can people forget about their child? I mean wouldn't the child be making some type of noise? Or even if he/she was asleep I feel like they could still make some breathing noises or you can sometimes just feel the presence of someone else.  I have locked my keys in a car before and I feel extremely mad, but I notice right away.  So I do understand accidents happen--even though keys don't compare to a child--but I believe a child should be important enough to not be forgotten.  So for those that are common to forget about things this heat guard seat would be a good idea.
The heat guard should be a good way to notify the parents when they have forgotten about them and for those parents who left them on purpose, I like how it will notify police or higher authorities.  This way it will scare the parents/guardians a little bit and it will prevent them from leaving their child behind in the car.  The group seemed well organized and definitely well informed.  Good presentation!

Catfish

You never know who to trust now and days.  In the movie Catfish Nev falls in love with someone he has never met in person.  The girl, "Megan", sounded perfect to him, and she had so many good ways to make him believe the stories she was telling him about his life.  An example is how she was the artist herself but the story was that it was the art work of the daughter.  The voice from the phone call was real as well as the address where she sent the art work from.  That was until him and his friends started noticing something odd.  They went on the search to see who this person really was.  Their confrontation was really mature, and they used this as a lesson for themselves but were generous to show this to the world to try to make people aware of this situation that can happen to just anyone.
Now, thanks to Nev's experience, there has been a show created for people to find out themselves if they are being catfished.  It is sad that these generations have even gotten to this stage.  A show created specifically to resolve a problem like this.  Many people chose to catfish people for a number of different reasons.  This leads us to a lot of questions like:  Who are they? What do they want to get out of this? Why do the do this?
It's a good thing ONLY in the way that you get to like the person without seeing how they physically look.  Wait... but you do "see" them through pictures.  Yes, but whether the person is really who they claim they are or not you still got to the talking part all because their pictures were somehow appealing to you.  But wait... AGAIN.  They are also lying about who they are anyways, that is personality wise So this is when this becomes a bigger issue.  They do not look like what the pictures show and they are lying about their lives and who they are.  Therefore, this is ALL a lie.
It's a good thing technology exists though, because it has helped a lot in finding out who the person really is thanks to image searches.  Unfortunately, these are things we have to deal with now and days and take prevention for.  We have also learned to use the internet and social media carefully.
Is it scarier being the "catfish" or "catfished"?

How just is her justice?

In the Black Mirror episode White Bear, we watch Victoria get punished throughout the whole episode.  A non-ending punishment that kept me in constant anxiety.  As an audience we believe Victoria is the innocent one and feel compassionate towards her.  But at the climax of the story this perspective completely shifts to the opposite.
However, there are a few details in which keep this perspective from being concrete.  Somewhere in our mind we have doubts and question how much fault Victoria holds in the crime of the murder of the 6 year old girl; and, does she even deserve to be getting this punishment?  I suppose that these doubts are because of how our first impressions of her were constructed on her innocence and how she was the victim of every character in the movie.  She had no power over what was happening causing us to feel sympathy for her.  The next unconscious reason why we have our doubts and aren't fully in agreement with her punishment is because later when we find out she played a role in the murder of someone we recognize that she is unaware of what was REALLY going on, especially because her punishment is a daily repetitive cycle.
So let us move on and focus on her punishment.  Her punishment consists of public humiliation, consistent torture, getting let down when barely gaining trust in someone, and physical pain.  Then after all this torture throughout the day they erase her memory and each day when she wakes up they make her believe she tried to commit suicide.  How fair is this punishment?  Does it even compare to what she did?  This punishment is an example of  a "taste of her own medicine" because the crowd just recorded her as she was getting tortured instead of stepping in to help just like Victoria did to the little 6 year old girl. Just this should be the stopping point because this would be even punishment.  However, in my opinion, I think they did too much by adding everything else and especially by doing this daily.
The crowd is a good example of what we do now and days with technology.  It is just like all the videos we see on social media; we find videos in which someone is being oppressed in some type of way, yet the person recording is doing nothing in favor of helping, just obviously he or she is just recording.  In this episode the government is most likely aware of this park and allows it especially if there is ivestment being made.  Could this be a possibility in the future?  How much worse can justice get?
