What the Waldo is going on?
What more can you say watching an animated figure almost win an election. Yes, I understand, people will always want something that speaks to the truth of their being. But what would have happened if he would have won? These are the questions that we ponder on. Why did the people choose to vote for something that literally had no political stance and only went against what the other campaigners were doing. Or...were the people just being rebellious in their actions and expressing their voice by saying, " my opinions are actually a joke and politicians are the comedians using them to an advantage." Waldo and the politicians are a perfect example of the inconveniences that many Americans experienced on November 9th.
Waldo's crude and obstruct behavior only helped to pave his way to almost winning president. Why were people approving of this blunt personality? It was different and eye opening. YES, people may always surround themselves with others of class and elegance; who are never rude, but don't they always tell us to keep at least one person around who will "Keep it real"? Waldo was that guy. People appreciated his honesty towards the hypocrisy of the elects. As it relates to my country, Americans were getting tired of hypocrites.
A business man Vs. A comedian
In our case Trump is Waldo, but he won. This left many people confused. They screamed, "OMG...
why would people vote for someone who has many opposing views and is against every single minority in the country." Who knows why....all we know is that it happened; change is certain.
Social Media's reversed influence...
Oh, how it can never be fully expressed that social media had a major influence over trumps win.
They never took it serious; They made memes; They talked about his family; They even told us about his failures in life and blindly failed to realize they were making this man more popular amongst the voters. People never expect someone to get a Grammy that they've never really heard or known about right? It gets rumored first. This is why in Waldo, the director of the animation wanted to stress out the importance of downloading the Waldo app, so that he would get known. Now and days having popularity makes perfect sense in accordance to acceptance in society.
If Waldo's election process had an electoral college .....he would have won! Because in the United States it is almost if the popular votes doesn't even matter.

Crystal, I completely agree with your opinion of people's acceptance to blatant honesty instead of the typical politically correct candidate. More so, it is sad to say that almost half the country agreed with Trump's hate filled speeches. However, it seems as if you are in favor of popular votes winning an election; just because the candidate has more popularity does not mean they are fit for the job. The popular vote is not always the correct vote.
I enjoy the casual tone of your blog. it brings a comic relief into this stressing week. I sometimes wonder what if a person who always tells the truth and 'keeps it real' was in government? what If a normal citizen, a person a the people got elected? and while Donald Trump doesn't necessarily fit my description of a person of the people, he is the closest thing we've ever had.
