The recent elections between president candidates Hilary Clinton and Donald Trump has resulted in tremendous anxiety and social unrest amongst many Americans. Who would have imagine this country would elect a lunatic with no governmental experience and resembles misogyny, sexism, racism, and other -isms that oppress people from all backgrounds. Teachers should really stop telling their students they could be president someday, because I am convinced some teacher told Trump those words, and this is the result from it.
The result of Tuesday's election marginalized people and communities to the point where they will continuously need support and love from those who empathize.
As I reflected on the results from Tuesday in class on Wednesday; I couldn't help but think how this country embodies western privilege which is presumably entitlement and pridefully calls itself a Christian nation where love and justice is for all as stated in the pledge of allegiance.
Similar to Trump, as a class we watched a movie titled, The Waldo Moment. The cartoon character Waldo resembles Trump. Both characters have abrasive personalities that ultimately strikes fear and anxiety to people who are disfranchised. Waldo is controlled by a comedian who struggles to find himself and what he wants. The comedian is then replaced by a media maverick who owns his copyrights. Waldo and Trump resembles the characteristics of a self entitled rich White man who only operates based on his own needs and wants and disregard the interest of others.
America has elected someone who represents entitlement and disregards people who reflects his image of wealth and success. Post elections have resulted in recent increase of hate crimes and protest across the country. As a nation we have to realize that America is not what she says she is. She is not liberty and justice for all.

I don't see how America is not liberty and justice for all? If you are a citizen of the United States and you have not committed a federal crime than you can vote. America voted for Trump. I agree he is very radical and much like Waldo but that is what America voted for. I don't think the crimes have to do with Trump supporters as much as the protestors who are protesting something no one can change.

Angelica, I believe this statement hits home to many "minority" groups who have unfortunately been oppressed in this country under "Christian" values. With that being said, I whole heartedly agree with your statement, "She is not liberty and justice for all." I loved the fact that you called out Western society and the United States alleged "Christian" values after electing a man who is publically known to have several ties to the most notorious domestic terrorist group, the Ku Klux Klan. I thoroughly enjoyed reading your blog.
