Be Right Back shows how technology plays a major role in society even after death. Technology is essential for human beings. Things like computers, email, and the internet have all greatly impacted our society. In Be Right Back, Martha puts all the videos of Ash talking on the computer so it can work for her to be able to talk to the app but it is like talking to Ash and hearing his actual voice. A group of people are needed to work with, develop, and maintain all of the new technology in homes and the workplace. Staying in contact is easier now than it has ever been. For Martha to be able to talk and communicate with Ash even after he has passed shows how technology makes staying in contact so easy. You can talk to, video chat with, or collaborate with anybody in the entire world. These things are shown in Be Right Back. In the beginning of the series, Ash is shown making posts and videos on social media.  Having access to information any time it is needed is a major benefit of technology today. Most companies, no matter how large, have systems which allow their employees to access or enter necessary data quickly and efficiently, which saves time and money. In Be Right Back, Martha works from home making art work. The cool thing is that Martha can make her art work and send it to where it is supposed to go to for her job. Martha is able to work from home and send her work to where ever she is supposed to send it to without having to leave from the comfort of her home and have to see coworkers and bosses everyday.
When Ash died, Martha felt like she had lost of piece of herself and took it very hard which is normal for people that lose someone so close to them. At first she thought that the app that Sara was trying to tell her about was crazy but ended up finding out that it would help her feel better about Ash's passing. Even though Martha knew that Ash had passed away, because of the app it was like Ash was still around. Even though the app and fake body of Ash helped Martha, it also hindered her because she still ended up wanting the real Ash back because those things were still not completely like the real him. The fake body of Ash had texture mapping which is when the body has lines and prints just like the real human body of Ash. When Martha was in bed with the fake body she noticed that it did not have the mole on its chest that the real Ash had. So Ash probably did not have a picture, video, or email to let the app know that he had a mole on his chest.  This shows that no matter how much information that is put on the internet, Ash was not 100% completely him because he did not put every single little thing about himself on the internet.
