When someone looses someone who was very close to them they may have to grieve and of course be sad for awhile. They way people grieve or remember their person is different for everyone. Before I begin let me explain a bit on what the uncanny valley is. The uncanny valley is when a humanoid robot (most times) is almost identical as a human and gives the viewer a uneasy feeling about whether their being deceived or not. For example, one may see a character who looks like a human in animated movies, on television shows or commercials. For instance, in the television series "Black Mirror" the 2nd season first episode be right back, is about a boy who doesn't pay hardly any attention to his girlfriend since he is always into his phone with the internet or on social media. He dies early in the episode and it is unclear about how he dies so we have to conclude that he was probably texting and driving. At the funeral her friend suggests to have her sign up for this program that would help her and grieving. The program allows her to talk to a computer system that has taken everything that her boyfriend (Ash) has ever put online and have conversations with it. Crazy no? It acts just as if it was really Ash. At first she was hesitant to try it out but who wouldn't be. You are speaking with something that is trying ti impersonate someone who is dead. I wouldn't have not it myself because I am very sensitive when it comes to loved ones passed away and I would be confused with the reality. After she decides to test it out they have been talking for awhile and takes it to another level. Now she can speak with him on the phone and hear his voice. While it's... (the computer system). Now this may not seem as weird as the texting to her maybe because it would remind her of videos she has of him or even old voicemail. She then talks with it every second of everyday and even freaks out when she dropped her phone and was unable to speak with him anymore.
Anyways the climax of the show is the highest level of creepy you could imagine. She orders a full on humanoid robot body with flesh and it looks just like Ash. Although it's not of course he's dead which I feels she starts to forget. Now the robot (Ash 2) lives with her and takes all of her commands with shows that he is not a real person. I say real in he has his own conscience and can do thing himself without her telling him what to do. One may have thought she would've stopped with the texting and would be done with her grieving by then until she keeps wanting more...
Overall I think that Martha has gone crazy because she has gotten so emotional attached to Ash 2 that she can't let him go or move on in a more healthy way, or even normal this was just creepy.
