People have a problem with robots looking human but when it's the other way around it's art. I can see why people would believe a human-like robot is creepy, but in my opinion its actually cool and I'm not bothered by it at all. It's what the world is coming to anyway, especially with technology advancing and improving every day. I feel like people should be used to the fact that one day robots and humans will be living in sync. How can someone be scared of a robot looking like a human, but when it comes to something like a missing limb that is robotic they want it to look and work just like their real arm? That's a little hypocritical if you ask me. Only wanting robots that benefit you, but it creeps you when it looks just like us and can blend in. It's no different than what is happening in the real world now. You never know how or what someone is deep down even if they look human on the outside. I don't see the difference with robots in the human world. Robots will probably be more human than humans are, if I'm being honest. Being able to distinguish between the two shouldn't be important, especially if it makes our world better or improves it, which it could. The whole point of technology is to improve and make things easier. Robots are the same. Hopefully, though, they won't take over the world like the movies suggest. But why would someone make a robot or machine that couldn't be stopped? The uncanny valley had me thinking about a lot of things to do with technology and the future. It was very interesting and cool to see how close we are to so many wonderful innovations. Creepy isn't a world that would first come to mind, more like extraordinary. Life is constantly being upgraded and this is no different.
In class, watching the film "Be Right Back" did nothing but solidify these thoughts. Even though Ash 2 was an exact copy of the original Ash, he still wasn't actually the real Ash. When original Ash died, Martha didn't know how to grieve and took up the opportunity to talk to Ash beyond the grave using, guess, technology. Really it was just whatever was left of his digital self. It comforted her for the time being, but then she got greedy and wanted more. It transitioned to phone calls and this is when she started realizing that it wasn't exactly the same person she lost. Still, though, she became addicted, you can say, and still wanted more when "Ash 2" over the phone told her about she could actually be with him again, even though it was expensive (she must've had money). When she physically had Ash 2, at first she was freaked out, but it didn't matter because she had him back and that's all she wanted. The fantasy didn't last long, though, because soon she started realizing that it was really Ash and that it would never be. I don't know what she was expecting seeing as it was a technically a "robot" and it obviously wasn't going to be Ash exactly. This made her angry and she started to actually resent Ash 2 to the point that she wanted to get rid of him. She was stuck with him though because even though he wasn't the real thing, he still was something to her and she couldn't get rid of him. I feel though, that when she found out she was pregnant with real Ash's baby she felt as though she couldn't do it alone and she needed him. In the end she ended up doing it all alone anyway. I don't see how she expected him to possibly help out if she was embarrassed of him and couldn't even tell her sister about it. This continues after the baby is born and she just stores and keeps him in the attic like an old toy, though it didn't seem to bother him. In my opinion she should've took her time to grieve and moved on. And her being pregnant just meant she'd still have a piece of him always and there's always memories. She shouldn't have messed with his existence like that if she couldn't handle it. This just meant she didn't think about it all the way through. But that's okay because that is where the world is headed anyway and, in a way, it all worked out for her. Hopefully in the future we continue to build on technology but be smart about it and use it in the best way we can.

I agree with your statement that robots can be more human that the human, but I do not really agree that human-like robot is not creepy. Imagine yourself in 20 years, living in a world that you cannot separate the humans from the robots. Do you think that's normal?
I'm just confused as to why it's necessary to have robots that will be exactly like humans, that could blend in, when we could just have humans be humans... I don't see a whole lot of good coming from making robots identical to humans. Robots respond to commands, they are not their own person. If someone bad gets ahold of one, which will most likely happen, they could make that robot do whatever they wanted. Robots won't know what's right from wrong. They don't have morals or a will.
