The Inside, The Outside, and Waldo

The Waldo Moment was very interesting to me. The character Waldo itself really stood out in more ways than one. I am not a very political person, so asking me to compare the election and this episode isn't easy.
After I have let the election, this clip, and our conversation in class sink in, I have really realized some key concepts.
As Nadia said in class,  she did not realize how every candidate, as well as Waldo, has a team. In the clip, Waldo was the face. In the election Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton were the faces, obviously. Haha. But the speeches, interviews, actions, and the whole "face" in general has a team behind them. And in the Waldo Moment when a team member went his separate way, nobody noticed because the face stayed the same. I guess what I am getting at is, when voting or liking a candidate, you cannot just look at the face. The team is crucial because in picking the face your picking the team that comes along with it.
On another note, we mentioned in class how Donald Trump is an outsider and Hilary Clinton is the poster child on the inside. I could not agree more. We know Donald Trump through his show and we know he is not afraid to say what others are afraid to say. Much like Waldo. Donald Trump is going to tell you exactly how it is and nothing extra to butter coat it. Most people in todays politics like that. Everybody is fed up with the same ole, same ole. In my opinion, this was a major key into why Donald Trump won. He ran a brilliant campaign being on the outside of politics and his candidate literally growing up on the inside.
Like I said earlier, many people know Donald Trump as a business man. Well at one point he wasn't all that rich. Many are going to argue his dad gave him one million dollars so he did not start from nothing and I can not argue with you there. BUT he did make his business from there. Obviously very successful. Much like Waldo, Waldo was a small character not many had heard about. He really got his name out there when he started saying things others wouldn't. An American stepped in and offered to help Waldo really go in the right direction. Donald Trump being the business man that he is, has already started delegating the power to more political hands verses just him.
Again, I am no politician and I do not know everything about Clinton and Trumps campaign. But the obvious comparison between Trump and Waldo really stood out to me.
