Project review on Safestreet

I thought that the best project was indeed Safestreet. It logically makes sense more than the others presented and was clearly an original idea shown to the class. While keeping the roads safer, it also has results to further help the designated drivers in the world. If the driver takes the safe driving test and fail, their car will not start. However, they can call an uber or other service to pick them up, so they can still make it home safely. On the other hand, there are a few big problems with the new project.

First off, as Dr. J said , the date test is a little bit impractical because many people forget the date. Although they won't take long, the whole process is a little strange to be mandatory every time you get in a car. If you are late for work, you are not going to want to take the test. However, my solution is simple. You advise people to turn off the bluetooth. However, the problem with the product is that turning on and off the bluetooth is one hundred percent necessary if you don't want the app to test you every single time. The point is this leads to everyone turning bluetooth on and off, especially if someone didn't want the app, and is more sadly focused on getting drunk. The problem you will run into with the product is that people will take advantage of turning off the bluetooth and not actually be disciplined to using the app to prevent them from driving. If someone is drunk and has the bluetooth already on the phone turned on and paired with their car, they will probably not be smart enough to avoid taking the safe driving test. However, if they are mentally able to figure out how to turn off bluetooth before or after getting drunk and bypass it, this product will fail altogether and won't be beneficial to keep anyone safe. It's a great invention, but having it only work with new bluetooth cars leaves millions of old cars and drunk drivers still on the road driving. This still leaves a giant risk for many drivers. There just needs to be another way other than bluetooth to make someone take it every time. However, the overall point is that it is inconvenient to people in a hurry, and it is unreliable to assume a drunk driver will have left on their bluetooth. They may or may not be forced to take the test just depending upon the bluetooth itself. This is a great product but all way too risky.
