Apparently, People's need to experience "justice is far more important than that of what is actually morally right. Doing something based on one's own personal gain is already wrong enough, but causing harm to another being for said personal gain to be fulfilled is breaking the scale.
In my opinion, justice would have been served if they had used the typical judicial system penalties rather than literally coercing a criminal into realizing that they are a criminal repeatedly. I completely understand the concept but there is no valid reason for doing what was portrayed in "White Bear." If any human has so much hatred in his/her mind, body and soul to the point where they have to repeatedly inflict pain on another human in order to bring peace to themselves, then they should probably reevaluate themselves. It's absolutely disgusting.
