White Bear Justice Park

The Black Mirror episode “White Bear” was a very interesting, confusing and disturbing. The episode starts off with the main character Victoria in a house waking up from what first seems to be a suicide attempt. As she begins to wonder around the house confused due to not remembering ANYTHING she stumbles upon a photo. The photo is a picture of a little girl who she begins to have flash backs on that makes her believe this little girl must be her daughter. After she leaves her house to go and search for her “daughter” she notices that everyone is acting weird and just recording everything she does with her phone. Victoria then realizes that people are after her and trying to kill her. She makes a friend who tries to help her find her daughter and get to white bear where its supposedly safe. Victoria continues to have flash backs thought the episode of the little girl she can only assume is her child and of white bear and why she shouldn’t go back to this safe zone. Once they arrive to white bear the truth is reviled about Victoria. It doesn’t only turn out that the little girl she’s been having flash backs of isn’t her daughter but the she was her kidnapper. Victoria didn’t work alone thought. No, she was accompanied by her fiancé. It turns out that the case of this little girl was huge and it was called white bear. Victoria’s fiance killed the little girl and burned her body while Victoria did nothing and sat back and recorded the whole thing. That’s why this whole thing that she went through turned out to just be her punishment. She goes through this horrible thing every single day where people follow her around recording her (like she did) while someone tries to kill. The figured this was the best punishment for her. We have no idea exactly how long they have been touching her like this but we do know its been for a while. 

I believe this whole thing was just a bit much and extremely out of hand. Yes what victoria did was extremely wrong because even though she clammed to be under her fiancé “spell” and that he “hypnotized” her it still not okay. She should of contacted the police instead of just sitting back and recording her. The punishment of this crime is just stupid. The fact that people pay to be a part of this like its some amusement park is ridicules and sick. To enjoy someone else suffering is disgusting no matter what the person did. If you ask me if they really wanted to do this then they should of just done it one time. That way Victoria could remember it and go through the pain just once. Going through this over and over and over again isn’t effective. It is clear that its all for the money and entertainment of everyone that is involved.
