The episode of White Bear really made me really think about the social world around us. It really reminds me of my high school because whenever there was a fight, students would pull out their phones and just record. It is real in reality. There are some cases that people would just record the cruel situation instead of helping the victim which is worse. It is like in a bullying situation, the bystander is responsible for the bullying of the person rather the bully himself because they are not actually helping the person but actually had the chance of possibly saving someone. This episode is depicting what is happening in the world nowadays. Victoria woke up and didn't knew where she was. It was strange when people would just record her and not offer her any help. It startled me a bit. I was kind of ok when the girl came and help but the plot twist close to the end shocked me.
At the end, Victoria is shown who she really is which is a criminal along with her fiancé.
Her fiancé is charged of killing the girl who at first Victoria thought was her daughter but in reality was the young girl, Victoria and her fiancé kidnapped. And Victoria is charged as well for recording the murder on camera. She is being tortured over and over by going through a physical and psychological trauma.
She is being recorded and is treated like a victim to her crime. People shout "HOW DOES IT FEEL TO BE WATCHED AND NOT HELP?" She feels remorse at the end but for the people, they see a child killer who took the life of an innocent little girl. In my mind, I understand that she is a criminal and that she took the life of a child but I believe this type of punishment wouldn't be acceptable because they are torturing her badly by destroying her mind and emotions. She could be put in a jail instead of being tortured for the rest of her life by putting her placement as a victim in what she has done wrong. This episode absolutely shocked me.
