Is that really you?????

Catfish has always been one of my favorite tv shows I have seen the movie before. The tv show idea came from the documentary having positive reviews and people started writing Nev explaining to him that they have been in similar situations. So he now helps people find out who they have been talking to online. You can basically be whoever you want to online so you never know who you are really talking to. Nev thought everything was going fine but he never got to speak to Abby the little girl who was supposed to be a painter, and Megan started sending him music but the songs were already recorded by other people. He started to question what else was a lie. The best thing about Catfish is when Nev and the crew take trips to wherever the catfish lives. They drove to where they believed Megan stayed but she really did not. They finally meet Abby, Angela(the mother), and Vince(Angela's husband). Nev is nervous and his brother, Ariel starts to freak out realizing no one looks like the pictures from Facebook. He goes outside to tell Henry no one looks like the picture. Ariel felt that they should have left because he did not know if they were safe or not. While there Angela still keeps the lies going saying she has cancer and Megan lives far out. Abby was not a painter but Angela was. Nev had feelings for Megan and wanted to meet her but it turned out that Megan was actually Angela. Nev was pretty hurt by all of this and did not want to continue filming but he brother forced him into it. I have watched almost every season of Catfish and people have been catfishes by old friends, family members, people with self esteem issues, and many other things. It's amazing that someone can take the time to create multiple Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram accounts and steal pictures from other people. One thing that was not shown in the movie but is done on the tv show is an image search where Nev could have took a picture from Megan's Facebook account and reversed searched it to find out who was actually in the picture. Most situations like this can be dangerous because you don't know the persons motive for doing what they are doing. It should be illegal to use someones photos online without permission but it's not made into a big deal. For example, clothing and hair companies steal pictures and use them as their own but all you can do is report it and find the actual person in the picture. No one has been arrested for anything like this but some kind of punishment should exist for pretending to be another person online only because you are also affecting the actual person not just the person you are talking to online.
