“Is this really Megan?”

In the documentary Nev, his brother, and his friend go on a quest to find “Megan” the woman Nev was having and online relationship with. It started off as a business setup with her little sister Abby. Abby was a nine year old published artist that Nev was buying paintings from. Abby introduced him to her mother, sister, and brother. After almost a year of being in contact with them Nev found some evidence that “Megan” wasn’t real. He asked her to sing a song  for him and his friends which she did. Being a skeptic Nev went online and found a cover of the song they requested and it sounded just like Megan’s version. That’s when they ultimately decided to investigate.

Nev still talked to Megan to get information about herself. He found out where she supposedly lived and went there to surprise her. Of course she was not there. Then they went to her mother’s house to see her and Abby.  When they got to the home they noticed nobody looked like the pictures Nev received but they stayed anyway. Then they went to meet Abby at her friends. When Nev starts to ask questions about Abby’s paintings she really had no idea what he was talking about. However she did say her mom was the painter. Right there Nev knew that her mom was Megan.

To me I think that it’s crazy to have an online relationship with someone you don’t know. Yes you may be wanting some attention that you aren’t getting but people have really bad intentions sometimes. Lying is easy to do but not hard to keep up with. It turned out that the mother was not only Megan but she was all of her friends that were commenting on her social media profile. Do you know how long that takes and how many lies you have to remember to keep that going. That says something about the type of person she is. Of course she said she was doing it because she was lonely but she wasted almost of year of Nev’s time. Personally I think she went about this totally wrong.
