While watching the Catfish film all I could think to myself was just how unnerving it was. The thought that for a long period of time, someone was talking to a person they have never even met in the most intimate and deep way possible but this person was not the truth of what they thought. Nev talked with a woman named Angela who said to have a daughter who could make magnificent art at a shockingly young age. Nev thought he was talking with different parts of the family for 8 months until it was found out that everything about Angela's daughter being able to paint and the different family members he thought he was talking to was all a ruse. The thought of someone going through the effort to make separate accounts to use someone seems so sickening to me. But the purpose of why they do it is an empty question. The topic of technology and a digital sense of self seems to be greatly abused in this matter. Angela creates different forms of herself in order to attract one other digital person until the both in person meet. After the meeting is everything entirely realized. One could easily pity Angela and say she was lonely and wanted a particular kind of attention while another could say what she did was morally wrong and absurd. Overall the thought that this exists and such people do this show deception to humans affects us negatively than it would in any other way.

To see the extreme lengths she took to keep up her story, it makes me think that she actually believed her lie. I think she was lonely but she should feel bad for lying to someone like that.
