Fame is the Game

Get Famous

So let’s get this straight…you want to post something on your social media?  For what purpose?  What do you get from it?  What does everyone else get from it?  Why should I spend my time and look through your posts?  Yes, I get it, you want to let the world know what’s going on in your life through a lens attached to your phone.  2017, am I right?  Snapchat, Instagram, Facebook, you post it, we see it.  Your typical “hanging out with friends” or “look at me eating fancy tonight” or “watching the new Game of Thrones and binge watching” stuff.  Okay, cool?  We all have those friends, unless you are the one who does even one of these things.  Do the “audience”, AKA your friends, want to actually watch what you are currently doing?  Are you just trying to show off that you’re living lavish?  Of course, these are your typical, basic videos you see on social media.  Then there are some like the wretched film “White Bear.”
That couple kidnapped another family’s child, tortured her, and buried her body in a sleeping bag and burned it.  Close to your normal psychopaths.  But then there’s the factor of FILMING it.  “Oh no, watch out, she’s not stopping him from beating up this poor, defenseless girl!  What’s that horrible woman on?  Kill that woman!  She isn’t harming the child but still kill her!” is what the whole class was thinking if I was not mistaken.  I was too, don’t worry.  Sure, torturing an innocent child is outrageous and sickening, but come on, filming it too?  Now that, ladies and gents, is pretty bizarre.

Image just looking through your Snapchat feed, oh there’s a puppy, oh they’re playing soccer, oh they’re eating at Gus’s Fried Chicken again, oh…someone’s torturing a kid.  You would suddenly go from bored, bored, bored, to shocked, disturbed, horrified.  Now, with this one film, it’s viral, the whole world knows about it.  It’s like a yawn.  One person yawns, everyone yawns and it just spreads.  Now you have to be on some next-level drugs to have the guts to post such a gruesome video online for everyone to see.  Just look at all the paparazzi she got for filming one thing!  Phones everywhere, camera lenses spotting the main character, a park just for one person!  Quite the park I must say.  She was also on stage in front of everyone, even had a parade just for her.  I almost mistook her for Justin Bieber.

But back to the chase, yes I do think the person who took the video recording is just as bad as the person who tortured the child because of not interfering with the crime and also being an indirect witness of the scene.  Still, the fame is off the charts for her.
