Is the future happening in front of us?

In philosophy class, we have questioned how our future will look. Technology is growing rapidly but we don't seem to know how that will affect our daily life. The movie, "Be Right Back," is a great example on the possible outcomes on technology. This movie not only touches on how closely similar is a robot to a human but also how we as humans will easily accept the change of technology.
The movie, "Be Right Back," has made me questioned how educated the public is on technology and how aware we are on the advances happening right in front of us. I believe that when we least expect it we will be having robots walking around us without realizing they are robots. I also agree on the concept that robots will take our jobs. Machines are already taking people's jobs. For example, in warehouses the number of people working decreases within the years because people invent new machines that replace human labor. Also, in fast food places now we are able to order our food and drinks by a machine. If you think about it, humans already depend on machines and technology for everything we do. On the other hand, robots will not need to depend on anyone or anything.
Additionally, although most of us are questioning how accepting we will be towards robots, I believe that we will be more open minded than we think. For example, the movie shows how the woman was able to have conversations and even sex with the robot. I also believe that if robots would become as human like as in the movie, then maybe robots could decrease prostitution and rape depending on how expensive the robots will be. Robots could also become the best selling sex toy. This makes me question, how will it affect our relationships with humans. That includes sexual relationship, romantic relationships, family and friends. Could we become isolated just like the lady did in the film?
Finally, I agree with the advancement of technology but I feel that the public should be more aware and cautious on the outcomes that will come from too much technology. Also, I feel that we should only allow robots to advance to a certain point. There should be more important things to improve on. For example, the future of humans. Will there even be a future for humans?

From how it looks and sounds, humans might become unable to do anything for themselves.

I like your points and I didn't even think about lowering prostitution and rape rates. I also agree that robots are taking our jobs because they already replaced people in fast food places for machines.

I agree with you on all your points about robots take over for humans and how helpful they can become for them. It's true that robots can benefit in this in society, but the question here is and you touched on it: Will everyone accept them into society? Clearly the ending of the episode from Broken Mirror wasn't the case as Martha kept Ash 2.0 in the attic for so many years because of the incidents that happened before.
