This bot did in some ways fill the void that Martha needed in order for her to slowly realize that bot Ash could not compete with human Ash. I actually believe that for a short period of time Martha really thought that bot Ash was human Ash. When she realized that bot Ash couldn't respond to her like human Ash did without having to teach him was the moment that Martha fell apart.
Martha opened her eyes, almost as if she was in a trance and realized she was lying to herself this whole time by pretending that bot Ash was human Ash the whole time. This is why I believe she was grieving in some sort of way because when she asked bot Ash to committ suicide it is like she didn't want to pretend and lie to herself anymore. For me, I believe that she convinced herself of keeping bot Ash in the basement and not downstairs in the open because she wasn't in denial anymore. Martha knew it wasn't her actual Ash but it was the only thing she had of him and she kept him to show her daughter how her father was before his passing. I actually pictured myself trying to talk to my grandmother who passed in the same way as Martha did in the beginning of the program of bot Ash with the computerized voice.
I would love to have that sort of technology today and although it is controversial to many individuals in terms of it being normal or not i believe we should embrace the future and the current changes in technology. I am not saying we have to get and try every technological creation that is being made but we also should not limit ourselves to just what we know now because the world can change just like it has been changing throughout the years and there is nothing we can really do to stop it.

Valery you bring up an interesting point when you mention Martha comes to the realization that robot Ash cannot compare to human Ash. Overall Martha's attachment to robot Ash is interesting because she dives right in when the computerized system says that there is another step that can be taken to make the experience more real and Martha quickly says what is it. I think Martha starts detaching herself from robot Ash when she realizes he doesn't react emotionally like Ash would which is an important aspect to her. We could argue this is true when she tells robot Ash the following, "You are not enough of him".
I still think Martha is living a lie since she has kept Ash hidden in the attic, like I wrote in my blog. She wants to paint a picture where everything is okay, just how Ash and everyone else wants to seem perfect on social media.
I agree with your statement that Martha could have really believed that it was the real Ash for a moment there. She did realize he was not when he started having these “flaws” and the fact that he was just “not enough’ of him. You also mentioned it was her way of grieving when she asked him to jump, because she realized the truth. But she did not want to let go so she kept him in the addict . Ash 2 was the only thing she had left of him so I understand why it was so hard for her to let go.
