As technology advances through out times, our minds begin to be so carried away by it. "Be Right Back" shows the possibilities of how technology can go that extreme. In the beginning of the episode, you can tell that Ash 1 is quite addicted to being on his phone. So addicted that Martha has to tell him,
" Glove box" every time, which at first I didn't understand until Ash 1 put his phone into a box that meant he had to be away from it. He was so active in his social life that he didn't even pay attention when Martha asked him on what he wanted to eat his soup on. I had a feeling that Ash was going to die when he was going to make an errand alone. As soon as he got in the car Ash 1 plugged in the points to his destination and got on his phone. Martha had to cope the death of Ash alone but soon technology came in. At the beginning, the thought of even chatting to Ash 2 was just insane to Martha but she couldn't hold back and soon chatted with him. That chatting soon turned into talking to him on a device. Technology got so into her that she couldn't be without her phone. That one point where she dropped her phone and it broke made me realized she got so carried away by technology and that she didn't believe Ash 1 was dead anymore. She panicked so badly that she brought a new device and when she talked back with Ash 2, she apologized to Ash 2 as if it was Ash 1. 65
Soon Martha made Ash 2 into a human (robot) and was getting used to it and was really ok at first. But then as time goes on, she realizes that Ash 2 will never be like Ash 1. He doesn't have his (Ash 1) personality nor the emotions of a human being. He is just programmed to be like him. At the end, she doesn't want to destroy Ash 2 because it holds memories of Ash 1. It seems that she is trapped with a fragment of Ash that will never be Ash 1.
This episode really opened my eyes and made me think what would happen if my husband or loved one ever passed away. But turning them into a piece of technology to pretend that they are still there will never be a thought of mines.

I agree with this. It is actually really scary that later in the future we will be so hooked on our devices and rely so much on technology that we won't even realize how lost we will become. If we rely on it so much right now, imagine if all devices shut down or if electricity itself shut off. Many of us would not be able to function.
