White Bear the "Tormented, Deceitful Trust"

Temporary terror is one thing BUT ONGOING terror is a completely different experience. Here in the episode "White Bear", we see many plot twisting and symbolic elements that question the audience in the beginning. As the end neared, everything ties together and the complexity of the episode leaves me and my colleagues shocked and surprised to see how the events play out. Through the majority of the episode, I felt sympathetic to the young woman as she was fooled into believing that the world around her was forced into a traumatic state of technological strongholds. She woke up in a house that she examined and noticed a picture of a little girl and an image on a television. She thought that the little girl was her daughter and that she was missing. She eventually leaves the house and notices a man who chases her wearing a mask of the same symbol she sees on television. She runs to a nearby gas station and meets a woman and a man that have not been "affected." She is told that the image was a symbol used to hypnotize the people of her city. The people are all following her and taking pictures as she runs filled with fear and wonder. The woman and man run with her inside of the gas station as they try to escape the masked shooter. The man sacrifices his life to save the women as they escape into the neighborhood. They are met by another man driving a van that offers them a ride to safety. Eventually, we see that this man is deceitful and attempts to kill them but his plan backfires once they turn the tables and kill him. The people appear randomly in the woods and take pictures of the scene and dead man. Near the ending of the episode, things become more apparent as we see that the entire scenario is played out once they reach the transmitter. EVERYONE is in on her torment as it is revealed to us that she was an accessory to the MURDER of the little girl who she thought was her daughter. I viewed this episode as being very unique because of the plot twister we watch before our eyes. I found myself believing that this type of torment was to be for her boyfriend that actually committed the murder. What type of spell was she under while she was filming her boyfriend murder an innocent little girl? The correlation that I found interesting was that the woman was lead into her torment through deceitful trust just as the little girl was before her death. Life works in mysterious ways.
