In this film 'Be Right Back', featured by the Netflix series Black Mirror, a couple named Ash and Martha are introduced. In the beginning, it already reveals that Ash is addicted to his mobile device and becomes distracted and inattentive to his surroundings. His personality his also expressed in a way that we can remember it. He was not timid and shy, he was charming and had a sense of humor. Early in the film, he dies in a car accident and his girlfriend Martha is devastated. While she was at his wake, a woman told her about an new technological experiment that she believed would help Martha get through her loss. Martha refused but the woman signed her up anyways. She got a text from who was believed to be Ash but it was actually a computer system that collected information from his social media or anything he looked up on the internet. "Ash" said he could be more like the real Ash if she sent him more things about him, such as videos, personal emails, etc. Martha and "Ash" were then able to talk on the phone. "Ash" later revealed that he could physically be there. She bought the fake body parts from the company and he synced himself into the fake body. You could see that Martha was creeped out but also had this feeling of comfort. She was freaked out that it looked exactly like him and but then tried to act like it was him. Martha was in an uncanny valley when she felt "Ashes" palms and it was completely smooth. He asked her, "Does this bother you?", and she responded with "no...yes....I don't know..". This is the time when she was in the uncanny valley. She did not know whether to see him as human or the creepy replica of her beloved Ash. Then she decided to view him as the real Ash when she said, "I missed you. I missed you so much." She then started to point out the none human things he does. She comes to the realization that it was not the real Ash and it never will be. However, instead of shutting "Ash" down, at the end of the episode you see Martha and her daughter go up in the attic to visit "Ash". She probably kept him there because shutting him down would almost make her feel like she is killing him.
