White Bear

The episode of Black Mirror Titled White Bear was at first very confusing and I thought it was going to be something about how people simply use their phones too much. But after getting to the end of the episode and the plot twist hits. I realized that it was a very sick version of justice for the people in the show. I believe the original thoughts on it were one. if the woman is the same person that she was when she watched her boyfriend torture and kill the little girl even if she doesn't remember it. I personally feel like she is the same person that video taped the incident because simply not remembering that she did it does not change the fact that she still did it. I think saying that she isn't the same person that committed the crime is wrong. I believe that even though she was only video taping the crime she is just as much at fault as the person committing the crime itself. i believe this for the simple fact that she had the opportunity to stop what was happening to the girl and still chose to video tape it instead of helping the innocent little girl. That being said i in no way believe that what was being done to her was the right thing to do. I think that they are taking the punishment overboard because the person that actually killed the girl killed himself. I think people need that sense of punishment to feel like justice has actually been done and when they see that the guy has killed himself instead of spending the rest of his life in prison that they get this feeling of justice not being served. I think the act itself of forcing the woman to relive the same thing everyday is torture. i think its torture because they are using psychological warfare by making the woman continue to live her life everyday thinking that people are trying to kill her. I believe they in a way are making the woman feel like the little girl and putting her in the same situation was the girl. The girl had to suffer through pain while the man tortured her over days and the woman sat there and watched and video taped the whole thing. She is now going through the same thing in that she believes she is going to die and everyone is just watching it happen and no one is doing anything about it.
