Where to Stop
Episode 1 Season 2 of the Netflix Original Black Mirror is the story of a young woman who loses her significant other Ash in a car accident. As she struggles to cope with the grief she finally gives in and tries an experimental new technology recommended to her by a friend. She begins to interact with an AI posing as her lost one. However she can't shake the feeling of discomfort. No matter how much she tries she can't ignore the blatant differences. He may be Ash he isn't her Ash, he's the public's Ash.
Imagine if it was common practice to do this with the deceased. Where everyone who lost a grandmother or great uncle filled the void with an android copy. Where would it end? Would whole family generations from half a century just stand around in the attic? Would relatives from opposite sides of the country want their own versions? Could you get copies of living people? Who's going to answer these questions? Where do we stop?

I guess it just is a never-ending tradition until no more humans are left.
