Justice is a "MUST HAVE"

The little that we know about human behavior and why people do the things they do should be enough evidence to at least agree on one point. That if done something punishable and at the same time violates basic human morals, the person who committed such an act should be punished in a punitive manner. Just like in the show we watched, "White Bear", the woman who was an accomplice to the murder of a little girl deserved every single thing that was happening to her. You can not possibly forgive such a person. Now, under religion, most people believe the idea that if God forgives all your trespasses, you should forgive those who trespass against you. But, we are not all knowing and we as humans are far from perfect. So there is no way that I believe an act of that monstrosity can be forgiven in any way. They should be punished punitively period. Though, like discussed in class, the question of  'how will this affect the punisher?", will arise. the answer to that, well I believe that technology can take over and people wont actually have to punish other people. Machines can be built that are operated automatically so that no one has to actually do anything to the person who deserves it. Because it would be some what counterproductive to train people to bring pain which is exactly what we don't want. At the end of the day, in any circumstance in which one person brings excruciating pain to another person, the torturer should be punished punitively. You cant fix a soul that is already gone. Because to enjoy hurting people in such a manner that you make people scream in agony or just simply killing for your amusement, is in humane and most of all its just down right evil. So these people don't need help, they need to be given the same treatment that they gave. Because at the end of the day, putting them down, gives them the easy way out. And anyone who has ever hurt someone mentally or physically or has killed for their pleasure, deserves every possible way of pain brought to them. Maybe, making examples of such monsters will make another monster think twice before harming an innocent person. There is already enough pain in this world, so allowing these monsters to roam the streets or even having them in a jail cell is not enough. White Bear was a great example of an idea that could be done to people who are no longer people, but simply monsters.

i believe that yeah people should be punished but not the extent that Victoria was.. she was literally trapped in the same day over and over... and even though, no matter how bad their actions were, i think that the punishment should still be just not overly dramatic or overly harming.

I agree with the fact that she should be given a mutual punishment. Initially, we still have childlike features, we only learn if we are punished by either saying "no don't that and put in time-out" or physical punishment. Usually, the more their punishment affect them, the more they would regret their actions

I agree with mutual punishment. Saying the punisher because a maniac himself is a stretch though, its different types of psychological barriers to break
