A Great Service in Finance University!

It is usually the case that college students often find themselves in tight financial situations because of their financial responsibilities such as tuition payments, credit card payments, food, etc. Most college students also do not budget and thus make staying out of those financial hard times more difficult.  The idea of Finance University then, I think is a very smart and creative way of helping specifically college students with their finances through good budgeting, investments, and saving.  As far as budgeting, the average student probably has very little experience budgeting or simply does not have the time to prepare a budget, and thus the availability of a company such as Finance University would allow for college students to learn the proper way to budget and thus how help themselves with managing their earnings.  The idea of Finance University helping college students with investment of their money, I think is a great idea as well.  I would be willing to bet that only a small percentage of students invest their earnings on a regular basis.  Investment however, is something that should start at an early age so that you have an additional form of income in the future.  The fact that Finance University would help with that concept is a great way for students to learn about where and how to invest their money so that they can make their money work for them.  The problem with this however arises from the fact that most college students don’t have much money left over for investing once they have taken care of their other financial obligations.  In practice, I would think that even if the people at Finance University suggested investing small amounts of money, say $10 monthly, to begin with, then that would still be a way for college students to at least get their feet wet, so to speak, in investing.  Additionally, their services geared towards helping students save some of their earnings will also be beneficial towards making sure that the students have some financial security in the future or in case of an emergency.  Overall, I think the idea is a good one, especially if they can provide the service free of charge through contracts with the schools and banks.  The lack of similar companies such as Finance University I think also give it an edge as a business. I don’t find it hard to picture this being a sustainable business once the initial hurdles that come with starting a business have been overcome.  Finance University is a service which I would definitely use if available.
