Jog and Go....JOGO!

When I first saw the title of this technology/app, I thought it combined the words "jog" and "go" to create JOGO, but "game" in Portuguese is much better than my idea. Nonetheless, I am a huge fan of the idea this app presents. Childhood obesity is a huge problem that is showing no signs of improving as of now. I think this app can have a significant impact on ending this problem and making our future generations more healthy and live longer. Although the kids may not enjoy having their video games and phones locked up until they reach their exercise goal for the day, it will help them in the long term and give them a lower chance to get illnesses such as diabetes, among others. If the kids are taught to be healthy and to exercise when they are young, they will be healthier as adults, which is also a big problem in the United States. I also really like the concept of the master password given to the parents of the child so that they can monitor their kids progress. Getting their doctors to set the goals from the get-go also makes the goals more realistic and helpful because they know what they are talking about. The only concern I have is if/when the child cannot obtain the set amount of steps, calories burned, etc. I guess the parent could unlock their technology and let them use it if they are sick or it is raining or snowing. Also, what if the child has a lot of homework and they need the internet to do research? I guess that's where the master password comes into play as well. I really like that the app is easy enough to navigate that children can understand it, but also some of the features are complex enough so that only the adults can monitor their kids progress and update it if necessary. If only there was a way to easily gear this product towards adults as well as children. If the parents and children exercised together, it could function as a family bonding experience as well as everyone getting healthy, which could go a long way in their relationship with each other. The concept of the children's doctors distributing the wristbands is really clever too since they will have the most knowledge about the subject. If the parents gat them for their kids, they might be too hard on them or not hard enough on them to become healthier individuals.
