Cat-fish - a person who
pretends to be someone they’re not, using social media to create a false
identity, particularly to pursue deceitful online romances.
In the film
"Catfishing" we saw how an innocent Nev was deceived. He fell
in love with a girl named Megan and later learned that she was not who she said
she was. He was disappointed when he later found out the truth. In
my opinion the joke Angela played on Nev was very embarrassing for both her and
Nev. She portrayed herself as various people on Facebook that she was not. Angela was a troubled
housewife who spent most of her days caring for two severely handicapped
stepsons and building an elaborate web of online deception until it all spun
out of control. It was obvious that she
wanted to escape from the not-so-fun life she was living. Something that was not very mature of her was
to have put her daughter Abby in the middle of it, by using her to get what she
wanted. Abby did not even know what she
was being asked when the guys were asking her about her paintings.
On another subject, in class we discussed if what she did was considered
cheating or not. Yes it was. The reason I saw it was is because you cannot
create strong, healthy relationships by hiding parts of yourself from the
person you are married too. And letting them assume they’re the only
person receiving your affections when they are not is a wildly unfair thing to
do. Her husband may not have known about this but I am sure if he were to
find out he’d be very hurt. Getting
emotionally and mentally attached to someone could be worst than having just a
one-night stand, and that is exactly what she did. Her husband does not deserve for her to do
this to him. But he did describe why catfishing is a good thing, because it
keeps you on your toes. The Catfish is
added during shipping to keep the Cod from getting soft and mushy by keeping it
more alert, so to speak, without it life would be boring he said. There is something
very much wrong with her for her to have created all these Facebook accounts,
something mentally wrong. Because of her
acting upon her fantasy in her head she ruined Nev’s life because of a joke/an
escape from life.

I would have to agree with your view on this subject as well. She was indeed cheating on her husband. I define cheating as doing anything with somebody else that your significant other does not approve of. For example, flirting with another person in cheating. You wouldn't do it if your significant other was around. Would you? Although flirting is just about the most simple for of cheating, it can go as far as gaining emotional attachment like Angela did. If her husband would have found out that she was doing this, his heart would have been broken. So, yes! Angela is a cheater!

I also think that Angela was cheating on her husband, Vince. Personally, I believe that Angela made an account as Megan because she does not live the life that she wishes to have. Her relationship with Vince isn't the best, plus she endures an overwhelming situation at home. Even though her situation is tough, Angela was wrong for developing an online relationship with Nev. She hurt Nev with all the lies and I'm sure her husband would be hurt if he really understood what was going on.
