JOGO Analysis

Personally, in my opinion, JOGO should have already been implemented into our society but also something that we should be talking about to our peers, saying, “I achieved my points today, what about you?” I can say that my life was so much better before the days of technology coming alone and trapping people in a small box. I actually had fun going outside and playing activities with other children. There are way too many negatives to technology and health is definitely a big concern. The video presented asking kids what they would do with five years should be shown to children of all ages, because this statistic will only get worse for future generations. Five years is a long time and the people that live over one hundred years today mainly state exercise as the reason for their impressive condition. The idea of JOGO is simplistic and easy for any guardian to operate. The master password eliminates all concerns that we have with conditions preventing the child from reaching their goal. Another stimulation that could be added to make the app even better is to add a chance for prizes for accumulating the most points in a time period or using the points in a raffle drawing. Prizes could be electronics, ironically but if we can get the young people to exercise before using their devices, it is an improvement than them just coming home and instantly playing with their devices. We work harder to complete our tasks when a prize is on the line. This would bring a higher amount of exercise, even more than what JOGO requires, which is only a positive. We need to flip the trend that has changed over the years of purchasing unhealthy products to exercising the appropriate amount of time weekly. Some questions I would have for this product is how will they keep children engaged in this product? Some children might not want to do what is required and may adapt to live a life without technology. My idea I stated earlier about prizes could be a solution. Is there a way for children to abuse the system and get their required points for the day? Today’s cellular devices can be shaken to get steps. In addition, if a child doesn’t want to get the steps required they will work as hard as they can to find a solution from other friends or using the internet from another device. Overall, this is a fantastic idea and I would love for this to go to “Shark Tank” and be globalized as a generation changer product.
