Green Tiny Houses

I loved the ideas from the group that produced the eco friendly tiny homes. It was very simplistic concept that is actually within reach. The concept was that theses houses were to be for rehabilitation purposes, they would reach out to the homeless and those who didn't have any advanced homeowner skills. The houses were made from recyclable material that featured things like solar powered roof panels, solar powered windows, and even a rain catcher than would produce water. Their philosopher was Karl Marx who believed strongly in the communist system and the ' classless society'. His thoughts and ideas contributed greatly to the thought of this project. Giving homeless and those at a disadvantage with little to no debt on their heads would be a perfect way to get people back on their feet and fully functional within society. Assuming this program would be government funded it would help the impoverished areas of Memphis lots. Especially the part where I'm from which is South Memphis. Poverty stricken areas have many people down on their luck without hope to even move into any kind of affordable shelter and this would be the perfect chance. The next thing I loved about the project was the payment plans and the design options. This integrates the idea of responsibilities for the person living their if they were once homeless. This means they must first go acquire a job to meet this finical need. The customization process might give them a sense of freedom in choice that they didn't once have. Placing these houses together for some might bring the idea of 'ghettos' like older poor Jewish communities were once refereed to as. It is true that you would be putting a lot of lower class and poverty line people together, but if it is a true rehabilitation process these people would be working hard to get above the poverty line and out of these homes ( although they are quite nice). This rehabilitation process would also be more like a rehab depending on the person, government check ups could be issued to certain home owners. Their could also be bi-weekly to bi-monthly community meetings to ensure that those living in the community were working towards a better life and a better setting than the life they once had. To conclude though I thoroughly enjoyed this project and the concepts around it. Some may call it vague but it has a lot  of potential to expand in many different areas that need help especially financially.
