Tiny Homes - Second Project Presentation

The second project presented was the Tiny Home project. This group explained their project using a powerpoint and website. Their idea was so make a tiny home that helped the ecosystem. To sum it up, it was a tiny house on wheels. They also integrated the idea that the tiny home would have natural easy resources. Such as, no plumbing or electricity. Water being recycled was also a huge factor for these eco- friendly homes. This world needs people who want to help the ecosystem and the earth we live on. I personally like the idea of a tiny home, however, I did not think this project was creative as it could've been. Tiny eco friendly homes are already a thing, so I was hoping they would get a little more creative with their project. However, I enjoyed it despite this. From the presentation stand point, I liked how everyone had their notes printed separately in case they needed them, and I liked how each person had a section to discuss, I could tell some of them really researched and studied their project. I really enjoyed the beginning of this project, they gave me some perspective about parking lots, a lot of space is taken up my unused parking spots, and I found that super interesting. I think in these projects, it is super important to start with some informational background, and facts the audience might not have known about the social or political problem at hand, and then showing how your technological advance will help become a solution of the problem. Regarding their website, I liked the idea! I thought the website was organized and easily accessible. The main idea of this presentation was that the eco friendly homes were affordable and cheap. $20,000, sounds pretty good to me. Although it seems this can't be possible with all the eco stuff the small house would have to add, it's a nice thought. Although choosing your own house template would be fun, some of the options they gave would far surpass $20,000 in my opinion. That was one flaw about their presentation, other than lacking creativity, their numbers and pricing did not add up. I liked this project idea, and I think if this group worked with it more, it could be something great! I do love the idea of getting to move your house to different scenic views such as mountains and beaches.
