Catfishing Dangers
While watching this video I obviously knew that the man was being catfishes the whole time, but I always thought of cat fishing in a totally different way. Most of the time I only hear stories about men trying to hurt women by luring them through social media to their house. In this case I did not know if I should expect a young girl trying to act older playing the role of Megan or if there was some other crazy way this could end up. Although I was not expecting the daughter to be real, she still ended up not being the same person that had been talking to Nev and had not been the one painting. What freaked me out the most was that the mom, a 40 year old woman, was sexually texting a young guy and when her husband found out, he did not seem fazed by it. The husband seemed like he was a little clueless and may have needed some help with figuring out his own life before he could help his wife. In my opinion, I really did not feel much sympathy for Angela, because she had lied so much that I didn't know if anything she had said was true. Also, when she married her husband she knew what she was getting into and if she was not happy and she was bored then there were other things that she could have done that would have solved her problem rather than cat fishing a young man. Although I do not feel much sympathy, that doesn't mean that I don't feel any. I do realize she has a hard life and think that this ended up benefiting her in the long run because Nev was so gracious about it. He could have been upset and got the police involved but instead he felt sympathetic and realized that wouldn't have helped anything and realized that maybe he could help some. He did try to stick around to help her as much as possible even when he was completely creeped out and that is more than I would have done. I would have left the second she told me everything. Nev is also lucky because being catfished is a serious matter and it could have turned out a lot worse for him as well. The woman in my opinion needs help around the house and psychologically in order to fill whatever hole it is in her life that she needs to fill.

This is one of the most relatable posts I have read so far. I completely agree with almost everything you said. I do believe that the woman shouldn't be made to feel bad but that she needs some professional help.
I agree completely with what you have to say about how gracious Nev was and calm and collected. I thought it was funny that going into it, his brother was telling him to be calm and strong and then throughout the meeting, Nev had to tell his brother to be calm. I was amazed the whole time at how understanding he was with this woman and compassionate towards her situation. She did not seem to be malicious or wanting to hurt him but it was an escape for her and Nev was sympathetic to that part of it which is probably unlike what any other person would have done if they were in this situation.
