This movie "Catfish" is really fascinating to me, because I don't understand how he did not see it coming before. Just the fact that she sent that many paintings and that he never even looked her up or called someone to validate her. But then on the other side, this had never been seen before so that gives him a little bit of an excuse, but still.
Another thing that I wonder about, is how he wasn't suspicious about those Facebook "friends" of the family. At one point in the movie, it shoved that all of them only had 15 or so friends. That would be alarming to me, because how many people do you know that only have 15 friends on Facebook. And then a lot of them with the same friends in common.
And how Angela could keep on Catfishing Nev, without having any guilt, is to me impressive. What she did here, is basically deceiving another person and I think that is a really bad thing to do. I cannot imagine how Nev felt when he realized that he had been catfished, but also how he feels now that he looks back on what happened. It seems like Angela is trying to create a world where she is a different person than who she really is. From my understanding, he really has feelings for "Megan" and it seems like he thinks fondly of her. But how can he have that many feelings for her, if he hasn't even met her. I personally don't think that I could be that committed to a person that I have just seen pictures of and talked to over the phone.
Another thing that I wondered about after I saw this movie, was that it seemed too real. Like everything happened on camera and that they didn't miss anything kinda got me thinking. Also, the way that Angela spoke to Nev when they finally met was very weird to me. But maybe that is just how she is as a person. But then again, why did they start to film Nev at that stage? To me, it just seems too real to be real. Another thing is also the quote from the husband in the end. Why would he sit there and talk about something like that, if he wasn't aware of what was going. But I guess we will never know if this movie is fake or real.
