My Thoughts on Tooters

One presentation I really liked was the one called tooters. Not only was it a good idea, but the presentation was also very well created and administered. I think the fact that they focused their app and idea on younger kids in order to get them out of that same old standardized testing slump that us high school kids weren't able to be saved from. It is good for kids to be able to think in several other ways instead of just the insignificant way that teachers test you for standardized tests. It gives students initiative to do better in school while also tutoring them in the subjects they aren't doing so well in. It may seem like a complex type of teaching, but really it's the way most of us were taught when we were little before all the technology and guidelines to meet. Most of those guidelines are just for the schools image anyway and not the actual students progress. And these guidelines most likely determine whether a school stays open or not. I think the whole process of standardized testing isn't really efficient like the creators though it would be. Some kids may be very smart, but just can't express it during tests because they aren't good test takers. I can certainly relate to that because testing anxiety is definitely a real thing. Another thing that could also cause the kid not to do well is the stress that the test can bring because it can have such an effect on the whether the child can pass on to the next grade or not. As they pointed out, it is too late for us high school students to get in on this old type of learning because we are already in that kind of mindset, but as for little kids just started out, they should be able to act and learn like kids not be stressing over school. The treats that they get in this program is nice too. I also liked there whole set up of going to the person in need of tutoring " like uber but for tutoring". I thought that was really clever. Also the fact that they created their own YouTube commercials with custom songs just for the project was going outside the box with their presentation. The fact that they were more focused on kids being better learners, thinkers, and innovators. Not having them become drones of a standardized testing system and actually enjoying their childhood instead.
