Tooter App Actualization

The Tooter app was very interesting to me. As a byproduct of a public school system, riddled with standardized test, I can see the importance of such an app. All the hoops that we had to jump through during our elementary, middle school, and high school careers have only gotten more difficult for those who came after us.

I have a few nitpicky ideas though. I am from Missouri and some of the tests that were brought up by the tooters group were not tests that I was familiar with. I’m assuming that this app would be available nationwide, does it matter that some states do not have the same testing? I loved the idea that the tutors from tooters would go to students who were not yet able to drive. The tutors would have to have a background check, would the parents of the students being tutored have to have a background check as well? Will the students and have to submit their transcripts so that they are eligible for the Tooters app? Your group also talked about how the students would receive rewards for their grades improving. From a psychology perspective this reward could backfire on their intrinsic motivation. They would no longer want to learn for the sake of learning but just for the rewards that the receive.

The way that you presented the problem was very informative. This Tooters app could be an answer to the standardized test problem. Your group also talked about art programs being cut from schools, then it was said that your app would have tutors in art and music. If those are being cut from schools why would parents pay for a tutor to teach their child those things when they could, instead choose to put their child in piano lessons or a painting class? Are the prices that you offer for those extra circulars lower than if they were to Say, be tutored in math? The fact that your app would even offer those as an option is very exciting to me, without art, piano, choir, and drama I don’t think I would have made it through school. The fine arts were my outlet just as sports are other people’s outlets.

Honestly I think this app has a lot of potential and can really go far as an Uber for tutors. This is the world that we live in where were all engulfed in technology including students as young as the fourth grade having phones. This app may be able to help them get through the hardest times in school and pass their tests. Good job!
