Tooters, and My Thoughts

I thought this group presentation was very well done, and I liked how they are addressing on what I feel is an important issue in todays world. This issue is our youth not receiving a good education, and also not being motivated to learn. Why is this? I think, as Tooter's addresses, they are simply just not interested in the curriculum that is being shoved down their throats by our education system. They cannot be creative and take classes they truly are interested in. Instead, they are practically forced to be interested in a subject, which frankly does not motivate one at all. These subjects that our students, particularly in public school education, makes them not want to go to school. Who wants to go to a class that will not help them in the future? There future job might not even have anything to do with the subject. So essentially they have wasted money, time, and effort on a class that will have no impact on them in the job field later on. This is a shame, because our education systems are suppose to make one prepare life later on or the 'real world'. Evidence of our school systems failing school-students and youth is the USA ranking on the global education scale. We are literally getting schooled. I believe this reason is exactly because of what Tooters addresses, and that is that our nation's youth does not care about school as much as other nation's youth does. This is not a slight towards our nation’s students, but more of those who are in charge of our school systems, as well with the teachers who simply do not care about connecting with the children in their classrooms.

The Tooters app really helps with students to garner interest in learning and become motivated. Them working one on one with a 'tooter' will naturally stimulate them to focus. Students should not dread going to school like they do. It is sad, because one should look forward to accumulating knowledge. They should be happy that they are doing something that will benefit them now AND later on in their life. However, it seems in most cases, this does not happen. Our youth is not energetic or motivated for education. I am glad Tooters brings awareness to this, because there needs to be a change. Students should love learning, and teachers should love teaching.
