Calnter Feedback

I thought that Calnter was a good idea, but maybe the functioning of the device could have been different. Calnter was a device that people could put their finger on, and it would let them know how many calories they have left for the week, in fast food places. It would light up if the person has already exceeded the maximum calories for the week, regarding to fast food only. Calnter will help people not overeat when it comes to fast foods. Fast food is at the top causes contributing to obesity, as this group showed us statistics. I thought that the statistics were very insightful, especially the fact about the amount of burgers being sold per second, which was a lot of burgers. Many people often choose fast food on the go because it is good, cheap and fast to get. Overall, I thought the idea behind the Calnter was good to help people make a better and healthier choice when it comes to monitoring ourselves with fast food.  I think the topic of obesity was great to look at, because it is a problem in the U.S.  It is such a problem that our kids are even unhealthy, turning to fast food also as a “family choice” for the day. Many people do overindulge in fast food, and we don't know how many calories we are eating. Not just calories, we don't know how much fat, cholesterol, etc. that we are also putting into our bodies. I suggest that Calnter look at something besides calories, because we all need a certain amount of calories a day anyway. Moreover, if you all look at the "bad" things that goes into fast food, that would work better when you brainstorm on ideas for a device. In addition, the business side of the Calnter was also being looked at in class. I do understand why this would be hard to get these in fast food places because they will be looking at the potential "losing money" part. Fast food places wants to make money from people, and they honestly don't care how much you buy. They would have to be forced to put this into their restaurants because they will not do it voluntarily.  Overall, I liked the idea of Calnter. With brainstorming, a new aspect, and device function, Calnter will be on the rise to raise awareness of unhealthy eating.
