Broadening Your Social Life

I think the app that helps people out in their social lives was a great concept. The app that they made was to help people broaden their social lives. We often tend to stay in our comfort zone and constantly hang out with the same people. I feel as though this app would be very beneficial not just to the people who need friends, but to those who already have friends but want to broaden their social group. This app is also anonymous which means that no one really knows who they're talking to. When on the app no one knows your name or what you look like. I feel like making the app anonymous is a good thing because often times people base their social groups on peoples outer appearance. This app would really help both sides of that problem. It would help out the people that I guess you could say "judge a book by its cover", but it could also help the people that get judged as well. For instance say a guy and girl meet on the app. The guy always goes for beautiful blonde girls but the girl he's talking with is brunette. Him not knowing will allow him to have no predetermined thoughts about her appearance and get to know her for her personality.

This app could help so many people in various social problems, but I do have one problem. I'm sort of concerned with the fact that the app limits you to your university. CBU is a pretty small university and you basically know or have seen everyone here. I would like to be able to meet all kinds of different people. Since the app is anonymous and you don't know who you're talking to, whose to say you haven't already met the person you're talking to and are already friends with them. You could potentially just be wasting your time talking with someone you're already friends with than meeting new people.

I think the app is a great idea and personally I would get it if it was available. Even though it does kind of still limit you to different groups, I think it would be very beneficial. No one wants to go through their college career and not meet all kinds of new people. College is a time where you meet new people, find bestfriends, and explore different social groups. In a way I think this app could help do all of that.
