The central idea of "Finding My Place" is very crucial to today society. Especially now where our nation is evidently split between ideas, race, and gender and many more categories. As I think of it, I don't think many Americans even think about the human values of a homeless person; they are just as human as any other person. Why should they go through all the pain and suffering they go through each day to have the necessities that normal American don't have to think twice about? I know many people have doubts that giving the homeless money will be pointless, for many believe that they will spend it on drugs and all sort of things, but this idea will eliminate that judgment. This social problem can be reduced with this idea and the kiosk is a great way to incorporate this issue.
There are a few tweaks that would be needed to make this idea skyrocket. I believe in class we mentioned that it would be great to incorporate some sort of transaction or donation to give back to the kiosk. As people walk to work they can give their extra change they have to the kiosk, or even add virtual payment that people could give a few dollar. Then the problem of security rises, and the need for security will be needed to protect those donations and transactions. I remember that Michelle Pleasant mentioned that there would be a problem to refill the kiosk when care packages would be emptied out. Her solution was great, in which a it could potentially be a job for a homeless person to refill the kiosk.
There are many ways to incorporate and upgrade this idea. Maybe even test it in a city where property is very high and use the success of it as a pitch for the us government to support it and become a backbone to have them implemented in major cities. Overall the concept of this idea is great to showcase and bring awareness to this social problem and by using the idea could close that gap.
