ADAPT review

The ADAPT project was about creating a website for teens who are going through rough times in life and may be experiencing depression or anxiety. The website and app is supposed to be a safe place where kids can go discuss and vent about their problems with people who may be going through or have gone through similar situations or who are just experiencing the same kind of feelings. I feel like this was a really good idea because depression and anxiety is very common for people, especially young teenagers who are going through the struggles of high school or coming into their own. Sometimes people like to downplay depression or anxiety because they don't realize its actually a chemical imbalance in the brain and not something you can just stop feeling without the proper help and medical attention. So, having a place where kids can vent about their struggles could be very helpful in the process of healing.

One suggestion would definitely be to have more safety measures on the website and app if this were a real thing. You don't want just anyone to get on the website and join and pretend they're having issues and manipulate someone or make matters worse for someone who is. There are a lot of bad people out in the world that would jump at the opportunity to take advantage of these people who are feeling vulnerable and sensitive. So, having better safety measures like thorough monitoring on the website and app would be a good idea. All in all, this idea would be really great for any young teen out there who is experiencing anxiety or depression and to have a place to share their problems and possibly to meet people who are just like them.
