Save- A-Kid, Save-A-Life

I think that the Save-A-Kid project was very considerate. It was a great way to keep kids safe. I also think that it was for a great cause, considering all of the abductions and kidnappings going on today. When they showed the video it really angered me to see how some people reacted to the situation. How could you possibly sit there and not do anything when you see an infant sitting in a hot car all alone. I honestly think that the death of the baby could've been prevented if the first lady who came by and 'waved' would've actually did something useful, like calling the police. Overall, the presentation was really good and it shows how we need something like an app or an alert to help out those 'forgetful' parents. This presentation also helped me realize how even though most parents don't leave their children in the car intentionally, there is something that they could do to prevent this from happening. The idea of the bracelet was very clever because even if your kid doesn't go very far, you'll get an alert telling you exactly where your kid is and how far they went. Even though I think that it is best to have your kids in your sight at all times, we all know that it'll never work out that way.

Most of the time when children first learn how to walk, they don't want to be held as much. That's another reason why this app and bracelet could come in handy. When kids wander off, their parents immediately go into panic mode because they don't know where their child could possibly be. That's why you can set the bracelet to a certain distance, and when your child is that distance away from you or more, you will be alerted by the app on your phone.
