The Ache of a Mislead heart
In class, we have watched a documentary called "Catfish." Within this film, the main character, Nev, had got into an online relationship for 9 months with girl name Megan. However, we later learn that the Megan we thought we knew, was not the same person we later founded out. Instead, we found out that the Megan that we thought Nev was talking to, was really a middle-aged woman named "Angela", and that she was telling so I lies upon lies throughout the film. In my opinion, I feel very sorry for Nev and what he went through. He was betrayed by his lover in more ways then I could of probably handle. He had everything he wanted in a woman, but it was taken in an instant. I say I'm on his side not only because of all the horrible lies Angela had told, but because she was playing a person's heart. The thing in your body that can be the most strengthening but most fragile thing in a person. If I was in Nev's shoes, I would of a lot more anger then he did. The tampered with a side of me that you shouldn't have tried to enter. She did not only betrayed his love and trust but, in this case, the very image of who she was. I'm not just talking about her appearance, but her as a whole. She was married, had kids, and used her own daughters name to cheat. Everything she did just put her on the lower side of a human being. Now, I understand some of the lies she told Nev face-to-face like having cancer would have calmed me down and be more sympathizing, but in the back of my head, I would be able to trust her. But all and all, I wouldn't even get into an online relationship. Most because even in real life, people can still betray you just as bad as Angela did Nev. However, I do understand that it was a different time back then. And if He felt like she was the one and was willing to have a long distance relationship then he should do it. He looked very happy doing it. It just I would like to avoid going through the pain he went through. When he finally left her to go back home, I kind of felt that pain in his eyes. He spent his last few days with a faulty image of the woman he thought was in love with. Instead, it was a just someone who deceived him just with the same voice. I hope this does not off as harsh, I was just more inclined to be in Nev's shoes. I also believe that Angela was wrong for what she did.
