Catfish

"Catfish" is a documentation about a virtual relationship. I think it is really fascinating to follow Nev's experience and his trip. To me, it is scary how little people actually think about sharing their lives with an online community, but even more how these information can be used by total strangers to create fake identities and even fake lives.

In this case, "Abby's" and "Megan's" mother is even creating a fake circle of friends, including fake Facebook profiles and fake conversations. By using all those made up lives and identities, she tries to escape her life that she is living with her husband, their daughter Abby and her husbands two handicapped sons. Overall, in my eyes Angela is a really nice lady and caring mother, and I didn't really understand why she came up with all those lies.

I think Nev started this documentation as a objective but also naive likeable person. But in the course of the movie he turns into an emotionless realist. He finally becomes active and wants to meet up with Angela for a direct face - off. I really have respect for Nev, because this confrontation is more of an sensitive and gentle nature, although he is the victim. If I were in his shoes I would probably be way more mad at Angela and would not be able to be as calm  and insightful as he is.
