Homeless Project

The group that did the project on the homeless rehabilitation homes was a clever idea. They came up with the idea to build tiny homes that could house a family or a single person to get them off the streets. These homes would make up a small community for the homeless people. The house will provide the basic amenities, including a small fridge, a microwave, and beds. They have to take an assessment that will determine if they are qualified and meet the criteria to be able to live in these homes. They are only allowed to be in the homes for a month at a time and during this month they will be given food and allowed an opportunity to get their lives together. The program offers guidance and help in the process of applying for a job. The project is funded by local churches and businesses that are willing to donate.

I believe this project was a great idea. The amount of homeless people in the US is a huge problem, and even more specifically a huge problem in Memphis. Almost at every corner of every major highway or busy street in Memphis you're extremely likely to see a homeless person or family. Neither the state or the government are doing much of anything to help with this problem. There is little funding that is going toward trying to resolve this issue so, its these types of organizations that would help and would have a major impact on the homeless population. No one deserves to be homeless no matter what kind of person they are and I believe there should be more awareness brought to our attention so that we can begin to do everything we can to resolve this issue. All in all, if I owned and operated a successful company of any sort, located in the Memphis area, I would definitely be investing in this project and any other project that helps the homeless community.
