Save-A-Kid presentation

Overall, I thought the Save-A-Kid presentation was great. The statistics that were given about missing children and abductions were very alarming to me. I thought that this group had a very good idea and they literally thought of everything. First, there was the car seat sensor. I'm sure lots of people think that they would never forget their child in the car. It is scary to think that this actually happens often. The sensor does a good job of combating this problem. The fact that it connects with an app on your phone makes it that much more useful. I really like the idea of having to check in when you load your child into the car. Also, the alarm feature makes the sensor a little more effective. If the parent goes a certain distance away from the sensor without checking out it will sound an alarm. It is also very reassuring that if the parent does not silence the alarm that a family member or the authorities would be contacted.

Also, the bracelet was a great addition to the services offered. As long as the bracelet is fairly difficult for children to remove then it definitely serves its purpose. Just seeing a child with the bracelet on would deter a child abductor. I like the fact that it records the child's surroundings and the recordings are stored in the app. The app also has a lot of great features including contacts, the scanner, and access to to the bracelet. It was also very easy to use. I think Save-A-Kid is a very realistic technological solution to a very prominent problem that exists today.
