What is the Benefit?

My first time hearing about the term 'catfish' is when the show "Catfish" came about. At first, through watching the show, I thought that catfishing was just a term used when a person pretends to be someone that they're not, but we learned by Angela's husband, Vince, that catfish are people in everyone's lives who keep them active, always on their toes and thinking. I think he means that you should always be alert while socializing through the internet. I also think that he means Catfish are people who make life more exciting and encountering a Catfish can keep you alert.  Of course cat fishing is very wrong and inconsiderate. People who catfish are really selfish, because while they're getting what they want, the person on the other side of the problem is being tricked. In this documentary, we saw how Angela kept coming up with lie after lie. She knew that she was in trouble,  but yet she still continued to go on with the story as if nothing that she had done was wrong. I personally have no sympathy for Angela because even after Nev gave her a chance to tell him the truth and what was really going on, she still continued to make up things just so people could feel bad for her. I do feel like she has been through a lot, though with her two sons being special needs. I think that the stress of taking care of them gave her some type of urge to start doing the catfishing. I still feel as if that isn't an excuse to make someone develop some type of feelings for a person that they don't even know. I also think that it was wrong for her to involve her ten year old daughter into the lie. Any person who involves their child into their scandals, has to be mentally ill. She also lied about cancer which isn't something that you should play about since there are people out there actually dying from cancer. The cancer excuse was obviously a coverup for them to feel bad for her since she already knew that she was in the wrong. Then we learned at the very end that she was also lying about having a 19 year old daughter in rehab. I think that Nev is a really smart man for asking Abby questions, knowing that her mother didn't let her know about how she was dragging her in on her lies.  Everyone knows that kids always speak their minds so that was a really smart move.
