Angela Is A True Artist..

In the movie Catfish, the main character, Nev starts receiving fan art. These paintings reflected photographs he has had published in magazines and online. Along with the paintings he receives emails from the painter, Abby. Abby is a little girl from Michigan who is so inspired by Nev and has a big career going for her in the painting industry. Soon the emails turn into phone calls and Facebook messages. Nev starts talking to Abby’s mom, Angela. He would often talk to Angela. They always talked about Abby and her paintings and her gallery showings and sales. Soon enough Nev started receiving friend requests from Abby’s family. Nev became friends with her sister, her brother, her dad and many others. Nev became extra close to Abby’s sister, Megan. He thought she was attractive and they had a lot in common so as any person would, he caught feelings. They would text and call each other every day. Nev would always bring up the subject of meeting up and when the day would get closer and closer, Megan would bail. While he was talking to Megan he was still in contact with Angela and Abby. Since Megan did tell Nev she was an artist he wanted to hear some of her music. This is where everything went south. After Megan sent Nev some of her songs he was so fascinated and thought this was too good to be true. There is where the investigating came in. He googled the songs and found out they actually weren’t her songs. After attending a festival Nev and his brother had this idea, instead of trying to plan out a meet up that would fail time after time they would just show up. First, they went to the farmhouse Megan said she lived at. Megan was not there and everything was not adding up. The only conclusion was that this was all a lie. They decided to stick around and show up at Angela’s house in the morning. When they got there, they were greeted by “Angela”? This lady did not look anything like her Facebook picture. Nev tried to get the truth out of her but she continued with her story. They finally managed to get Abby and her friend alone and they questioned them about the paintings and Megan. As they had already predicted, Abby did not paint, and Megan was not in the picture AT ALL. Nev ended up confronting Angela and got her to confess. Angela was Megan, the painter, and all the other 15 Facebook profiles. Now that is truly an art. Who has the time and effort to put into that, especially if you have a daughter and two disabled stepsons to care for? Angela kept this a secret from her husband and well, everyone. She stole pictures from people who know each other in real life, but Angela did not know. In my opinion, you have to truly be messed up to go this far for attention. Not only is this wrong to do to other people but it is wrong to do to your own family! I feel like even though she did take down the fake profiles and fix her own to TRULY be her own she needs to get help. She pretended to be fifteen people at once. For all we know, she could have a personality disorder.
