Punishment or torture?

In this episode white bear, Veronica wakes up strapped to a chair and unconscious of everything and anything that has happened to her. She doesn’t even remember who she is. She leaves her house not knowing where she is when she suddenly see someone recording her. She was confused so she looked around everywhere and sees more and more people recording her. Before she left her house she saw the picture of a little girl and she instantly thought she was her daughter. She saw a man in a car so she decided to ask for help but quickly noticed he was trying to kill her so she ran off. She came across a guy and a girl at a gas station and they decided to help her. The girl came up with a plan to save themselves but since Veronica had to help the guy distract the man with the shot gun and risk her life she didn’t help, instead she ran. I felt like this was the first time she showed her selfishness. Veronica and the girl helping her got away and came across a man who was supposed to help them. She was hesitant to get in the van but she eventually did. As soon as she got in the van she started remembering small episodes of what has been going on. She said she remembered the forest and she mentioned they ate as soon as they got to the forest. After they escaped from the man they made a plan to burn the system that runs the program mesmerizing people causing them to record people. They got to the building when everything comes down to the truth. At this point the building that was the satellite place turned into a stage. This whole time Veronica was part of a show. Her and her boyfriend kidnapped and burned a little girl and Veronica recorded the whole thing. Since her boyfriend killed himself in prison they decided she needed a worse punishment and this was it. Everyday they do these exact same scenes and people from the community come out to record and watch her get tortured. They humiliate her and tortured her and at the end of the day they erased her memory. They did this every day can you imagine this happening to you? I can understand this being her punishment for a period of time maybe up to a week but doing this every day is inhuman. What she did was also inhuman but I feel like she deserved a set punishment not a never ending torture.
