Homeless project

I think that the homeless project addresses a really big problem that we can notice right here in Memphis. A person who takes part in this program wold be able to live in a small house, either alone or with others, and have a chance at getting their life back. I like the fact that the group addressed more than the person needing a home to stay in. It also gives the person gift cards, job applications, food, interview training and the basic necessities. People could really benefit from a service like this. The group really thought of increasing the person's stability in the future and not just temporarily. Overall, it was definitely a good idea that could be implemented in real life. It is relatively cheap to fund once the houses are built and the partnerships with churches, food banks, and home depot would keep this service available.

There are a couple of things that I would suggest to improve the effectiveness of the program. The time allowed for a person to stay in the houses provided should be longer. It should be long enough for someone to be able to get back on their feet, and one month is not enough. On the other hand, the time allotted should be reasonable so that as many people as possible can be assisted. It would also be useful to include bus passes for the people to get to job interviews. In all, the program is a great idea and it surprises me tat something like this does not already exist.
