Catfish: An Art

If I am going to be completely honest, I think that people who successfully catfish someone is very talented. Now, don’t think that I’m okay with someone catfishing others because I am not. I really think that is bad for someone to do that. What a find the worst of this, is because like in Nev’s case he got attached to Megan, and people getting attached to others is so common. This can lead to disappointment from, in this case, Nev, because you expect something and when you finally find out the truth it can hit you emotionally very hard. Like I said earlier, I don’t think that it is good when people catfish. I believe strongly that people who do the catfishing are simply alone. They are alone and they maybe they feel the need to be someone else to get the attention that they desire.  I think also that people catfish to escape reality. Like in Angela’s case, I think she was in a way tired of her daily life, so she started her internet life. As I stated earlier, people who catfish are talented individuals. The fact that Angela had to handle so many accounts in order to keep her lie alive and then having all the phone separated, in my opinion takes some skill. How she did not get confused on where to answer is quite impressive. If I am quite honest, I don’t think I would ever be able to catfish anyone simply because I don’t think I would be able to handle many accounts. I can barely handle the one I have now.  I think now it’s harder to catfish a person because there is so much social media and ways of talking to people. With that said, I know that catfishing is still possible. By the simple fact that so many parents buy their children phones at such a young age that it is easier to fool them because of their age. This could lead to ever deeper consequences, but I assume when parents by their young children phones don’t think of these consequences because they simply want their kids to leave them alone or because their kids are entitled. At the end of the day, people who do catfish are terrible. Some will say they do it for fun, just for laughs but it could seriously lead to very bad consequences that people don’t see when doing it.
