Never Trust a Catfish
In the movie Catfish, the main character, Nev, is in a relationship with a woman online, Megan. He begins to grow fond of her and ends up falling in love with "Megan". Nev came into contact with Megan because her little sister, Abby, would send him paintings of different pictures Nev took. Nev began to become suspicious of Megan when she sent him recordings of her singing. Turns out, the recordings of Megan singing were actually not her. So Nev began to investigate Megan. He decided to take a trip to go surprise her and to see what was going on. When he arrived in Michigan at Megan's house, he found Megan and Abby's mother, Angela, her husband Vince and their two sons. Abby and Megan were not home. After spending a couple days in Michigan, Angela breaks down and tells Nev the truth about everything. He finds out that Megan was never real and Angela was pretending to be her. He also finds out that Abby was not the one painting the pictures and Angela was also pretending to be her and painting the pictures. Although Abby is real, she was never the one who was talking to Nev. At first, I felt kind of sorry for Angela. It can't be easy living in the environment that she lived in. But then I really thought about it and she is choosing to live there and is choosing to stay. I do not agree with her starting this online relationship to compensate for the love and affection she feels she needs. Her husband had no idea of her online relationship, but he knew she talked to Nev for the paintings. He trusted her enough to not have an intimate relationship with anyone else. I believe abusing that trust is one of the most detrimental things one can do in a relationship. She could of just told her husband that she was feeling lonely and overwhelmed and needed extra attention. Instead, she decided to walk into Nev's life and get into a relationship based on nothing but lies. In the end, Nev handled everything very well and thrived from this. He now has a very well known TV show based solely off of this experience. So, I guess it was a good thing that he had to go through all of this. Now he gets to help people find out if the are being "Catfished" too.

I completely agree with you. Trust is something that is taken for granted in today's society and Angela is a prime example of someone who got caught up in what she was doing and ended up lying to multiple people. She should have never let the situation get that far, because she was the one in control of the situation.
I agree that her husband trusted her to be faithful, and although she did not get physical with Nev that she was intimate with Nev. Sadly, her husband was in the dark and did not figure out what was going on. If or better yet when he found out what was going on i'm sure he was hurt and felt that Angela could not be trusted. After all, aren't you suppose to be able to trust your spouse?
I also think that Angela completely disregarded the trust in her marriage. Since her living situation and relationship with her husband isn't the best, she used social media to better express herself. However, I feel that the online relationship that she develop with Nev was unacceptable. She ultimately cheated on Vince and continued to lie to Nev.
