......What Did I Just Watch?
In the film, Martha and Ash seemed like polar opposites. Martha was observant and attentive, while Ash was distant and somewhat robotic. Nevertheless, Martha loved him and it was sad that she never got a proper goodbye. I can understand that she needed an extended period of time to grieve. I can even understand her wanting to use the software to tell "Ash" that she's pregnant. Eventually though, a line has to be drawn somewhere. For goodness sake, the woman was on the verge of a breakdown when she dropped her phone! What made things worse is that she lived alone, so there was no one to snap her out of it. Thus, things get weirder. When Ash 2.0 tells Martha about making him physical (I don't know what possessed him to tell her that) Martha jumps at the idea. At this point I'm very interested in the film just because I want to see what this Ash is going to look like and how he's going to act. However, I still feel bad for Martha because she's not properly coping. When Ash finally appears, I was utterly surprised to see the resemblance. It wasn't until he grew a mole that I became OFFICIALLY freaked out. I guess the turning point for Martha was when she wakes up to him staring at the ceiling. I believe any rational person would've deactivated him at this point, but look at who we're dealing with. The most confusing thing about this film is how Martha just accepted the fact that Ash 2.0 isn't going to die anytime soon, so she hides him from the world. But why didn't she destroy him?

I agree that I want to see how that Ash 2.0 is going to behave, not that has some feelings such as fear, when he didn't want to jump off the cliff and I do have the question, on why didn't she just deactivate him and most importantly, why is she hiding ASH 2.0 from her daughter?
I agree with you about how creepy this film was. When she dropped the phone I realized how addicted she was to talking to him and how emotionally unstable she had been through this whole process. I think it would have been easier for her had she not started talking to him in the first place and had grieved normally. I was not sure if Martha did not destroy him because she couldn't bring herself to lose Ash a second time (even if it wash't the real him) or if she thought that maybe it would help her daughter in the long run to have him around. I think that if she would have just let her sister help her she would have been better off but sadly people nowadays do not think that way and one day technology will take over as much as it did in the video and soon enough everyone will be acting the way Martha did in the video.
Honestly, the idea of "talking" with someone after they are dead through a programmed robot is so beyond creepy. I think you are right that she did not grieve properly, and that Ash 2.0 is preventing her from real closure.

I agree with what you said about her grieving, I think that she spent too much time away from the real world to properly move on. Grieving is a tough process and her lack of closure is probably the reason why she didn't get rid of Ash2.
